Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation (ICAF), a registered Film Society, has been working for promotion of good cinema in Chennai with about 500 members including Film Directors, cinematographers, cine technicians and film lovers.
ICAF started organizing – CHENNAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (CIFF) - from the year 2003 and each edition of CIFF has seen a gradual growth in terms of attendance as well as popularity. Apart from organising CIFF, ICAF is mainly an active film society screening good meaningful films on a monthly basis for all the other 11 month of the year. It organises atleast two film festivals every month in association with various embassies and consulates in the city.

The CIFF Trophy was designed in a contest among upcoming artists in the prestigious Govt. College of Fine Arts- Chennai, which has been a major influence in chiselling the Madras Art Movement. From among the fifty four entries submitted, a selection panel of artists,ICAF & CIFF advisory committee members selected the winning design sculpted by J Mohamed Nasar, a 3rd year student. The awards sponsored by Real Image Technologies was then cast in Bronze from its clay model. CIFF connects arts & artists of Chennai as it evolves.
